EL INCA is a tragic love story based on the life of undefeated Edwin « El Inca » Valero, the greatest Latin American boxer from the Venezuelan Andes, fights in rings around the world, gives great shows and defeats all his rivals with his fulminating knockouts.

However, as his professional life starts to improve, his personal life starts to stagger. Edwin establishes a relationship with another woman and gets trapped in his insecurities and increasing drug addiction, to the point of self-destruction.

Based on a powerful true story, this vertiginous film focuses on the life of a talented young man who achieves success but who ends up the victim of his excesses and his countless fears.

DIRECTOR

Born in Caracas, Ignacio started his career in theater directing and
writing his first play at age 16. He studied filmmaking in the renowned University of Southern California (USC). In 2008, he released his first feature film La Virgen Negra (The Black Virgin) at age 23. In 2009 he published Penélope (Random House Mondadori) which ranked amongst the the book top ten best-selling books in Venezuela. In 2011 he wrote and directed the monologue “En Blanco”. This theatrical comedy was well received by the critic, had two successful seasons, which sold out almost every performance. In 2015, Ignacio started the production of his second feature film El Inca, which he also co-wrote.
